Switch-On Ceremony At Molocaboc Island: Continuing Quest In Bringing Light To Northern Negros

As one of the ultimate mission of Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NONECO) for a continuing total electrification in Northern Negros, a Switch-On Ceremony was successfully conducted today at Molocaboc Island, Sagay City, Negros Occidental. The project of electrifying the island has completely fulfilled after years of planning and development. Through the guidance and supervision of the National Electrification Administration headed by NEA Administrator Edgardo R. Masongsong under the Sitio Electrification Program, EC Allied Organizations, NONECO Board of Directors and General Manager Atty. Danny L. Pondevilla , and Local Government of Sagay City led by City Mayor Alfredo D. Marañon, III, and Molocaboc Brgy. Captain Rocky S. Pasaylo, the realization of bringing LIGHT is finally achieved by our MEMBER-CONSUMER-OWNERS in the island.

With the energization of 487KVA generator set and 3Phase distribution line, the capacity of power will cater six (6) sitios in Molocaboc Dako that will provide light in the island and to it’s residents that was once living without electricity. This project will also be the catalyst for other future development including plans of putting submarine cable connected to the island that aims to provide a 24-hours electricity, and lower electricity cost subject for a possible feasibility study.

Indeed, the fast track of said project implementation was made possible by the involvement of NONECO’s men and women through its cooperation and commitment to the coop’s community and to the ONE EC-MCO Movement.
